ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

Master’s and PhD Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowship plan is one of the largest and most prestigious international scholarship schemes in the world funded by the UK government.

• Strengthening resilience and response to crises
• Access, inclusion and opportunity.

ELIGIBILITY/ Countries

Holder of at least a BSC with second class honours or Assez Bien although higher grades is an advantage. Cameroon is amongst the eligible countries.

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

• Be permanently resident in an eligible commonwealth country
• Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2020
• Be permanently resident in an eligible commonwealth country
• By September 2020, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree (2:2) and a relevant postgraduate qualification. The CSC would not normally fund a second UK Master’s degree. If you are applying for a second UK Master’s degree, you will need to provide justification as to why you wish to undertake this study
• have provided all supporting documentation in the required format
• Not be able to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
• Not be registered for a PhD, or an MPhil leading to a PhD, at a UK university before September/October 2020
• NOT have commenced and be currently registered for a PhD, or an MPhil leading to a PhD, in your home country or elsewhere
• Have the support of a potential advisor from at least one UK University listed in your application form for PhD.

HOW TO APPLY

You can apply through

• A national nominating Agency (http ://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/national-nominating-agencies)
• A Selected university (http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/phd-scholarships-least-developed countries-and-fragile states/nominating-universities) for PhD
• A selection from a Non-Governmental Organisation or charitable body ((http: //cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/commonwealth-masters-scholarships/nominating-ngos).

You must make your application using the CSC’S online application system, in addition to any other application that you are required to complete by your nominating body by 16.00 GMT on 30^th October 2019.

All applications must be made through one of the listed nominating bodies. Each nominating body is responsible for its own selection process and may have additional eligibility criteria. You must check with your nominating body for their specific advice and rules for applying, and for their own closing date for applications.  You must make your application using the CSC’s online application system, in addition to any other application that you are required to complete by your nominating body.

Your application must include the following supporting documentation by 16:00 (GMT) on 20 November 2019 in order for your application to be eligible for consideration:

• Proof of citizenship or refugee status – uploaded to the online application system
• Full transcripts detailing all your higher education qualifications including to- date transcripts for any qualifications including to-date transcripts for any qualifications you are currently studying (with certified translations if not in English)- uploaded to the online application system
• References from at least two individuals submitted directly by the referees to the

Online application system (referees will be sent an email request)

• supporting statement from proposed supervisor in the UK from at least one of the

Institutions named on your application form -– submitted directly by your proposed supervisor to the online application system (supervisors will be sent an email request).

It is your responsibility to ensure that your referees and proposed supervisor(s) are able to complete the references and supporting statements by the deadline and that they receive the reference and statement requests.

Supporting documentation uploaded to the online application system must be uploaded as files which are no more than 5 MB in size and must be in one of the following formats: PDF, .doc, .docks, .odt, .jpg, .jpeg. Files submitted in any other format (including Zip files and PDF Portfolios) will NOT be accepted.

SELECTION PROCESS

The nominating bodies should submit nominating candidates by 18 December 2019 and the selection criteria is based on

–  Academic merit

–  Quality of research proposal

–  Potential impact on development of candidate’s home country

TENUE AND PLACEMENT

The application is enable at any approved UK university with which CSC is having a part funding agreement (http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/ukuniversities/part-funding/).

You are advised to list three universities and supervisors that you think are the most appropriate for your study, in order of preference, and to explain your reasons. This is important because the CSC will not change the university or supervisor (or the order of preference) of a provisionally selected candidate after the point of selection, unless exceptional information becomes available that could not have been foreseen at the time of application.

The CSC will make the final decision on institution of study, and reserves the right to overrule any preferences indicated by the candidate. The CSC will consider the suitability of the course and its value for money when deciding on any overrule.

Bourses du Commonwealth 2019 : Candidature par les antennes nationales FAWE

Le Commonwealth (CSC) offre plus de 750 bourses aux citoyens des pays du Commonwealth chaque année.

Les bourses du Commonwealth en Master et Doctorat sont offertes pour les six thèmes suivants:

1. Science et technologie pour le développement
2. Santé
3. Promouvoir la prospérité universelle
4. Paix, sécurité et gouvernance
5. Gestion des risques
6. Inclusion, opportunité et accessibilité

Eligibilité

La commission du programme de bourses du Commonwealth a invité le FAWE à désigner des boursiers pour les bourses du Commonwealth 2019 au Royaume-Uni.

• Etre citoyen ou avoir un statut de refugier dans l’un des pays éligibles du Commonwealth
• Etre résident permanent dans ce pays
• Etre disponible pour commencer les études dès le début de l’année académique septembre/octobre 2020
• En septembre 2020, avoir le diplôme requis avec au moins la mention assez bien
• Avoir apporté tous les documents dans le format correct
• Ne pas être capable d’étudier dans les pays UK sans la bourse
• Avoir trouvé un encadreur dans une université des pays UK pour la thèse.

Comment postuler?

Le comité de bourse n’accepte pas les candidatures directes. Vous pouvez postuler à travers:

Les agences nationales nominées (http : //cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/national-nominating-agencies) et les organisations non gouvernementales et les personnes charitables (http : //cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/commonwealth-masters-scholarships/nominating-ngos).

Chaque organisme est responsable de sa procédure de sélection et peut avoir ses propres critères de sélection. Les organismes sélectionnés doivent fournir les recommandations spécifiques, les règles et la date de fermeture pour les candidatures.

Vous devez faire votre demande de candidature en utilisant l’application en ligne du comité de bourse (CSC), en plus de la procédure prescrite par l’organisme national. Les candidatures doivent être soumises avant le 30 octobre 2019 à 16h00(GMT)

Vous devez ajouter les documents ci-après avant la date du 20 novembre 2019 à 16h00 (GMT) :

– Preuve de citoyenneté ou statut de refugié

– Relevés de notes détaillant toutes les qualifications universitaires (avec les traductions certifiées en anglais). Téléchargeable grâce à l’application en ligne.

– Références d’au moins 2 personnes soumises directement par le référent à l’application en ligne (le référent recevra un accusé de réception par email)

C’est de votre responsabilité de vous rassurer que les référents sont capables d’envoyer les références avant la date limite et vérifier s’ils ont reçu l’accusé de réception.

Les fichiers envoyés ne doivent pas dépasser 5MB et sont sous format PDF, .doc, .docx, .odt, .jpg, .jpeg.

Procédure de sélection

Chaque année, le CSC invite chaque organisme sélectionné à soumettre le nombre spécifique de candidature. La date limite pour les organismes est fixée au 18 décembre 2019.

• Mérite académique
• Qualité du plan d’étude
• Impact potentiel sur le développement du pays du participant.

On vous conseille de choisir 3 universités et programme de formation que vous pensez etre appropriés et expliquer vos choix. Les universités sélectionnés sont disponible sur le lien http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/ukuniversities/part-funding/ .

Vous devez vous préinscrire dans votre université préférée avant l’envoi de la candidature car beaucoup de formations ont des délais stricts. Vous devez chercher prudemment les conditions d’admission quand vous êtes candidat pour la bourse.
